On many cruises a sea day gives a perfect opportunity for laying on deck and topping up your suntan. Unfortunately this doesn’t apply when you are cruising in the North Sea!! Although it stayed dry all day there was a strong wind across the decks which meant most people bunkered down inside the ship.
The entertainment team puts on lots of events, such as dance lessons, trivia and various lectures. A peculiarity of most cruises is the art auction. Most ships have an art gallery on board with all the pieces up for sale at several auctions throughout the cruise. I’ve yet to see anyone buy anything but they must sell some or they wouldn’t still be here!!
Not much to see on the journey today apart from this gas platform…..
….. and this other structure, which must be connected to the oil and gas industry.
Sylvia and I spent most of the day relaxing in our stateroom catching up with some reading and watching some old US sitcoms on the TV. The room is very spacious and has two large TVs mounted on the wall which reduces the arguments about what to watch.
Tomorrow is our penultimate port, Alesund.
