After two excellent days in Quebec the pace of life will now slow as for the next two days we will be at sea making our way to Prince Edward Island. There is always plenty to do on board including what Princess call “Enrichment lectures” from visiting speakers. On this voyage we have Andy Reid MBE, an ex-army corporal who became a triple amputee after serving in Afghanistan. He is now an excellent motivational speaker and fills the theatre when ever he is talking. I believe later in the cruise we will be joined by TV cook Rustie Lee, a completely different kettle of fish.
Of course it is always nice on a sea day to try out some of the speciality restaurants on the ship. Today it was the turn of the Crown Grill, the on-board steak house.
For starters I choose the scallops while Sylvia had the seafood bisque. I got so carried away enjoying my scallops that I completely forgot to take a photo remembering only when my French Onion Soup arrived.
Slightly different from a traditional French Onion soup as this one had a crust of Roquefort cheese and was called Black and Blue Onion soup. Sylvia loved her bisque and both my starters were delicious.
With Sylvia not particularly a meat eater she choose the Sea Bass and Breaded Prawns for her main, this being served with mushrooms and asparagus.
I opted for a steak settling on the Kansas Strip with a loaded potato and mushrooms.
For desserts I went for the Rhubarb and Apple cobbler with ice cream…
…..while Sylvia choose Key Lime Pie Bar.
The service and the quality of the food were both excellent and definitely worth the small supplement that you pay for the experience. We both enjoyed it immensely.
We loose an hour tonight as the clocks change as we head further east so early to bed on a very full stomach.
